FLOAT THERAPY
Frequently Asked Questions
Is your float therapy done in a tank or pod?
Nope — and that’s intentional.
At Urban Sanctuary, we offer open floatation pools, not enclosed pods or tanks.
Each float takes place in a spacious, private room featuring an open pool filled with warm, Epsom salt-infused water. There’s no lid to close, no confined space, and no feeling of being “sealed in.”
We designed it this way to make the experience more accessible and calming, especially for first-time floaters or anyone who may feel uncomfortable in enclosed environments.
Why do people float?
Floating promotes deep relaxation, mental clarity, and physical recovery. The Epsom salt water relieves pressure on joints and muscles, reduces stress, improves sleep quality, and encourages mindfulness. It’s popular for managing anxiety, fatigue, and even enhancing creativity.
What should I wear?
Most people float nude to enjoy full sensory freedom and maximize magnesium absorption. However, wearing bathers is totally fine if it helps you relax. Your float room is 100% private and secure.
Do I need to know how to swim?
No. The float pool is shallow and highly buoyant—you’ll float effortlessly without needing to swim.
How old do I need to be?
Guests must be 16+. Under 16s may float with parent/guardian permission and supervision.
Do I need to bring anything?
We’ve got you covered—towels, toiletries, and earplugs are provided. Bring a hairbrush and comfy clothes to change into afterward.
How is the water cleaned?
Each pool undergoes full filtration and sanitation between sessions. With 400kg of Epsom salts in 1,000L of water, bacteria cannot survive. Showers before and after are also part of our hygiene standards.
How often should I float?
Weekly is ideal for stress relief and recovery. More frequent floats may support sleep issues or chronic pain. Find a rhythm that works for you.
Can I float while pregnant?
Yes—if your doctor approves. Floating can relieve pressure on the back and joints, especially during the second and third trimesters. It’s one of our most loved prenatal services.
